Our LongLife® folding rulers and meter sticks are all made of PA (6) plastic with a glass fiber content of 30%. That makes them highly resistable against water, chemicals and dirt. What makes them unbreakable is their superior flexibilty. The measuring scale is hot stamped to ensure good readability even after heavy use. Additionally, our meters do have backlash-and-wear-free hinges that snap into place at a 90° degree angle. To protect the hinges from wearing out, a spring bar maintains an even pressure on the links. All of the meters belong to the accuracy class of III. This accuracy class is defined by a tolerance limit of up to 1.4 millimeters on 2 meter measuring lengths.
Depending on the model and the execution the rulers have red imprinted tens depicted on the measuring scales, a recto-verso scale (reverse scale) and/ or fixed metal ends. Some models were conceptualized for a particular purpose such as the LongLife® Electro meter. This one is specifically made for an electrician. What makes it stand out is its integrated pull-in aid buildt in the first link. It has additional markings for easily measuring the distance between electrical sockets. It is also sample tested and verified for withstanding electrical currents of up to 1000 volt.
One particular folding ruler differs from the rest of our LongLife® meters: the LongLife® Plus Composite. The basic material is the same, however, it is enhanced with glas fibers on both sides. This makes it much stronger and acurate, bringin it up to an accuracy class of II.

Sometimes it can be hard to decide what is best for the companys’ individual requirements. Therefore, we created specialized LongLife® models for different working environments. Different intensities in flexibility ensure a comfortable working process. For instance, the model LongLife® Plus Composite (mentioned above) has glass fibers incooperated to enhance its stiffness (similar to beech wood). So, it is suitable for civil engeneering or construction. Other meters such as the LongLife® All-in-One have an intergrated tool to measure depth. This one would be handy for a carpentry to measure the depth of holes or punch-outs.
